Chairperson's Message

Extremely thankful to the members of Trichur Branch for giving me an opportunity to serve as the First Chairperson of Trichur Branch of ICAI, and representing the branch; heading the committee for the year 2019-20.

Formed on 10.06.1981, formally inaugurated by CA V Rajaraman, the then President of ICAI, Trichur Branch of SIRC has never looked back, since then. With a humble beginning with 60 members under the leadership of CA V Sukamara Menon & CA CK Vasudevan, the first Branch Chairman and Secretary respectively, the Chapter has expanded multifolds with over 750 members and around 4000 students.

The Branch ensures continuous knowledge updation of its members by conducting various seminars and study circle meetings on current topics in taxation, accounting, law and auditing. The Branch also meets social obligations by arranging various charitable and social activities. Our spacious seminar hall that occupies up to 300 persons has been a witness to many mega functions and all the activities of the branch.

The Branch equips and encourages the students to excel in academics as well as in profession. Considering its meritorious activities the branch was awarded the BEST SICASA Br of SIRC among medium sized Branches for nearly 8 years. The goodwill, the reputation and the facilities that the branch enjoys currently are the fruits of the toil of senior members, past office bearers of the branch, the Council members of the Institute and also the dedicated staff working with our institute office. The student committee of the branch under SICASA also engages in the development of professional and cultural skills.

The spacious air conditioned classrooms with individual chairs and projectors for PowerPoint presentations, a well organized library along with the learning spaces has been our asset. Our branch conducts various coaching classes for CPT, Foundation, Intermediate and Final students, in addition to crash courses before their exams. We are conducting ICITSS Course, ICITSS Orientation Course, and AICITSS and AICITSS-MCS Course for those who have completed Articleship. Career counseling and awareness programs are also conducted for the students undergoing plus two course in higher secondary schools. Our students get the benefits of the well experienced and dedicated faculties who are Chartered Accountants as well as experts in various subjects taking classes in various other institutes as well.

To ensure the ongoing process of education and training and the functioning of the Branch, it is a must that new professionals be brought to the helm of affairs and the respective offices be handed over during regular intervals. The present committee has taken charge on 16-02-2019 for a tenure of 3 years. The committee include,
